Chapter 50: The Asylum



Jason Todd A.k.a Robin which is Batman's newest side kick was riding with Gordon to Arkham Asylum to investigate Joker's escape. "Thanks for giving me a ride Jim. It would have taken me a very long time to get here on foot."


"Don't mention it. Now I should warn you, Arkham isn't a place for kids."


"Don't worry about me Jim. I can handle myself." said Jason (Robin) who felt very confident. Moments later they were there After they got passed gate security they parked in front of the big building behind a couple of ambulances. When they got out they herd thereunder from a distance and quickly got inside before it rained.


Jim opened the door for Jason as they got inside the creepy building. When they got inside they noticed the electrical security gates were on. They turned it off just for Jason (Robin) and Jim Gordon to come in and also to let paramedics out as they were taking the dead corpses.


"Hi, can I help you ?" asked the guard sitting in the front desk.


"Were here to investigate inmate number -0801's escape." said Jim smoking his pipe.


"You mean the Joker ?" asked the guard. Jim nodded and the guard gave both Jim and Jason I.D tags so they could show they have permission to enter. "Now couple of things to keep in mind. The whole island is asylum grounds so stay away from surten part of the asylum and whatever you do don't make eye contact to the inmates. Oh and theres no smoking in the rest of the asylum."


"Dammit, has this country changed or what ?!" complained Gordon as they continued to make their way where they needed to be.


"Man this place gives me the creeps. A whole island abandon to madness." said Jason they made it to the elevator. They were going to the floor could negative 0.6 which was six floors down where they keep the most dangerous inmates.


"Herd from Batman lately ?" asked Commissioner Gordon.


"No, not recently. He's been isolating himself ever since Joker's latest crime attempt. I think Batmans getting to the point where he has no choice but to kill the Joker."


"Yeah, I think so too. Can't say I blame the poor guy. The Joker killed a lot of people that night. He even nearly killed the president."


The door opened as Gordon pulled out his gun as he knew there are dangerous inmates wandering around this hallway. They could hear the terrifying sounds that inmates from the cells or rooms all across the hallway ether somebody muttering insane things to themselves or people screaming in the middle of the night. They could even hear echoes of the faded laughter of the Joker.


"Alright, lets get this over with so we can get out of here !" said Gordon as he led the way to the crime scene. Every door to each cell was opened which kept them on their toes to watch out for dangerous inmates. Once they reach the end of the hall way they made a left turn and walked past an insane man tide down to a hospital bed shouting while shaking his head side ways. They have noticed some inmates were in still in there cells even though they were open. Many of them stared at Jason and Gordon with creepy eyes however no matter what happens Jason and Gordon can't make eye contact. If they did it will make the inmates violent and they didn't want that.


Now not all the cells were open. Some closed shut. They could hear there voices through the iron doors.  "I'M NOT THE SICK ONE . YOU LYING MOTHER FUCKERS !!!"


And that wasn't the only inmate. "GET OUT OF MY HEAD. LEAVE ME ALONE !!!"


They even walked past the Calendar Man's cell which was closed. "Thirty days hath September, April, June and November. February has twenty eight alone, All the rest have thirty-one. Except in Leap Year, that's the time When February's Days are twenty-nine. "


It was hard to ignore their insanity but they kept walking until they made it to the stares which led them to the lower level of the asylum where they kept the super villains. The cells that were definitely kept closed were the super criminals like Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy. Mr. Freeze's cell was covered in ice and Poison Ivy's cell was a total jungle. Not to mention the Riddler's cells had graffiti all over with questions marks.


the Crime scene was at the end of the hall way. There they saw bodies with sheets above covering their corpses. Jason (Which is the new Robin) held up his hand help device which can detect any sort of chemical in the air or the floor. "I thought so, there is definitely joker toxin here.  Joker must have been extra careful to not infect himself with the toxin, but……how did he do it ?"


"What are you talking about ?" asked Jim Gordon.


"This particular toxin makes victims not only laugh to death, but kill each other as well. They can only be infected by touch. I don't know how Joker did it, but he had these poor men murder each other like rapid dogs in a illegal dog fight." explained Jason.


"Seems Horrifying. We didn't find any sort of toxin in Ace Chemicals, not even in Steel Mill. He must have created this toxin inside the asylum somewhere."


Suddenly noticed something smelled very funky. At first he thought it was the dead bodies rotting but it wasn't that, it was something else. It spelled like……poop. "AWE DUDE, these guys shit their pants !!"


"Yeah, that sometimes happens" said Gordon covering his nose.


At the Titans tower five days ago before Naruto left to Turkey:


"Wait, WHAT ?!!" asked Naruto who was very surprised.


"Yeah Naruto, you didn't know that. When you die your jowls release and than you shit your pants. Its pretty hilarious if you think about it." Explained Oracle before she chuckled. "So when you do a suicide mission make sure you don't have any junk in the trunk. Heeheeheee !!!"


"I guess that douse explain why I keep hearing strange noises every time I see a person die."  said Naruto as he thought back when he was a ninja of the leaf.


Oracle: HAAAAHAAahahahaha !!!


Back to Jason and Jim Gordon:


"And from telling how these restraints were cut, Joker must have used a piece of a razor blade." Jason noticed the restraints were cut and also noticed the razor blade was lying on the ground inside a opened cell. He saw there was blood all over it but before he could look at it closely he herd a voice speak to him.


"Are you Robin the boy wonder ?" asked a young teenage girl almost about his age except older.


Robin: "Hey, you shouldn't be here-"


"I every wright to be here, because this is my cell." said the young girl.


"Wait a minute, are you saying your an inmate here ?" The young girl nodded in response as Robin became surprised that they would allow an inmate her age be here. "But you look, so young ?"


"You don't have to be a certent age to be crazy."  she responded.


"……You don't, seem crazy ?"


"Well, I did murder my abusive mother by chopping her head off her body with an axe. She punished me by locking me inside that dark closet for three days, so I punished her. Funny isn't it." She started to laugh very creepy like any typical crazy.


'Oookay, that explains it.' thought Jason. "So whats your name ?"


"My name is Amabel, I've lived in this asylum for one year. Luckily in another year or so they mite ship me off to a regular mental institution so they could give me some help, but how things are looking now I hardly doubt it, not after when I bit one of the nurse's ear off." she said holding up the ear.

"Amabel, did you see what happened here ?" asked Gordon.


"Oh yes, I saw everything. It was a work of art. The Joker really knows how to put on a show." Amabel said while giving them an evil grin.


"Do you mind telling us what happened ?" he asked again.


"Oh sure, if Robin doesn't mind taking me out for a walk outside to the court yard ?" she asked.


It took a moment for Jason to decided but then he said."Okay."


"I don't think thats such a good idea." said Gordon.


"Its fine, I can handle myself. Just please ask the staff's permission and I'll make sure she doesn't try anything funny." Jason winked at him as a sign of trust than later on when everything was set Jason took a walk with Amabel outside the court yard.


Jason just bought some soda for Amabel out of a soda machine outside. He gave her some 8 Up
(Which is 7 Up) and glanced at it. "Thats so sweet, thank you. I haven't had Soda in a while." She suddenly turn from a sweet innocent girl into a crazy sociopath as than gave her own soda a evil glare. "ALL THEY GAVE ME IS WATER IN THIS GOD FORSAKEN PLACE !!" She than crushed the can getting pop everywhere on the ground.


'That was creepy. I'm starting to have second thoughts about this. Yet again she claim she saw the whole thing of Joker's escape.' Thought Jason. "So you said you saw what happened when Joker escaped wright ?"

"Well all I know is that before the guards were taking Joker to his cell a doctor stopped them to check up on their inmate. Suddenly Joker was telling the a doctor a story about his wife or something, and just like that, the doctor went insane and slid one of the guards throats, than they all started to kill each other. Now here is something you mite be interested in. Rumor has it that Joker has a secret laboratory where he creates his toxins inside the very, very ancient part of the asylum, that hasn't been used since the early 1960's. I would not dare go there except in great need."


Jason: "Why ?"


"Why ?! Have you not herd the stories ??"  Amabel got closer while giving him an evil stare. "Arkham Asylum is huanted, the source of it all is that particular building that the asylum hasn't used in years. That place is where Amadeus Arkham himself use to live in before turned this place into a asylum.  Many horrible things happened there."


"Your talking about Mercey Mansion." Added Jason.


"Yes, it was the original part of the Asylum before the new buildings where built. It was shut down twenty years ago. It doesn't matter how optimistic you are going there. You would be a dead man if you even think to go there."  Jason didn't care much about Amabel's warning. He just needed to find where Joker keeps his toxins. "Hey wait, where you going ?!"


"Thank you for the information I needed. Now you better be back in your cell when I come back." warned Jason walking towards the abandon mansion in the distance.


"Didn't you not hear anything I just said. You must be crazier than me." Amabel Commented.


"Gordon, I'm heading to the Mercey mansion. Make sure Amabel is back inside her cell. I'll be back." said Jason contacting the commissioner.


"Alright than. Good luck." Gordon responded.


Later on that night Jason was inside the mansion. It was pitch black so he used a glow stick to light his way. Suddenly somebody else was contacting him. He couldn't make it out since it was breaking up.


"Hello….can you hear me…….Jason ??" Jason knew it was Oracle's voice but he couldn't make out what she was saying at all.



"I better find somewhere that has a signal." He said to himself but he could search the place the floor beneath his feet collapsed and down a hole.


Meanwhile at the Bat sub Clare was still furies at Batman from stoping her from getting revenge on Priscilla. "What gives you the wright to stop me from killing her !!"


"Even if I allowed you to, there is no way we could have handled all of them by our selves !"  Batman and Clare were almost at the Bat cave. Batman contacted Alfred first. "Alfred."


"Yes sir ?" responded his servant.


Batman: "Were going to have company."


"A sleep over ? ……….Oh goodie." responded Alfred sounding sarcastic again. The door that led to the Bat cave opened for the bat sub. The bat sub rose up until it reached the service. Waiting for them was Alfred Pennyworth. The door to the sub opened than Clare jumped out from the sub and approached the butler.


"Welcome back sir. I presume this the women you spoke of." asked Alfred. Batman than climbed out of the sub as well and walked upstairs where the bat computer is at.


"Yes. Shell be staying with us for a while. Just until I figure out what to do with her." Batman than made it to the first floor of the Bat cave where the bat computer was at. He than was looking up some files of Naruto Uzumaki, one of the Teen Titans newest members.


Clare just wondered around trying to find where Batman went while looking around the area. She seemed kinda of lost so Alfred assisted her. "Wright this way miss."


Alfred led her to the infirmary and had some of her clothes removed so he could check her wounds. "What about him ?" asked Clare.


"Ah don't worry. He usually treats himself. Besides he's too stubborn to let anybody help him." Alfred noticed there were blood stains, but no wounds or scares. "My word, it seems your practically fine."


"Yeah, I heal a lot faster than a average human douse." Clare was gonna put her shirt back on until Alfred stopped her for a second.


"Wait, atleast let wash them for you." insisted Alfred. Clare allowed the butler to take her cloths to get them washed and barrow'd a bath robe for now. When she headed to where the bat computer was the Dark Knight was gone. All she noticed was drips of blood on the floor. "Where'd he go ?"


"He went to go find his strength." Alfred replied.


Bruce removed the upper part of his bat suit and was walking into the most emptiest parts of the cave. He than fell down to his knees while clutching his wounds. He raised up his head looking up looking for something. He than saw it, the very big bat hanging upside down while looking back at Bruce with its mysterious green glowing eyes.


Bruce than started getting flash backs of when he was a child, when he first met Jim at the station after his parents death. Remembering when Jim placed a coat around him comforting him. and at the day of his parents funeral. He was standing between two open coffins. One of his mother, and the other his father.


Than the giant bat came flying down toward to Bruce showing off its fangs. Bruce closed his eyes and opened up his arms allowing this giant creature to come closer to him.


Hall of Doom:


"There is only one way to control DoomsDay. A kryptonion device that is in the possession one of Superman's oldest enemies, General Zod. Unfortunately he is trapped in a prison called the phantom zone. No magic or any kind of sorcery could open the portal to the phantom zone, except this !" Lex Luthor than revealed his portal to every villein standing before him. He than revealed the stone that was once used by Queen Bee. "After when Queen Bee was defeated by that orange ninja. I manage to have my agents take a piece of the stone for myself. The powers of this stone is unknown but its raw power can open to any world I choose. "However, I can only use its power only once, than the power of this stone is completely gone.



Luthor than placed the stone into the machine and activated it. "Now, let us bring back General Zod."


The portal than opened to the phantom zone. There wasn't much to see exempt darkness and mirrors. One in particular mirror approached the portal than it broke into pieces which freed General Zod from his prison. General Zod got up on his feet and Luthor and a whole new army of villiens.


"What is this place ? Who are you people ?" asked the alien General.


"Welcome back Zod, to planet earth." greeted Luthor grinning at his success.
